PokerStars receives two awards for #GameOn

PokerStars received the ‘Poker Marketing Campaign’ and ‘Social Marketing Campaign’ awards for its #GameOn campaign at the prestigious EGR Marketing and Innovation Awards, held on Wednesday, 20 May at The Hurlingham Club in London. PokerStars beat eight other nominees to take the awards.

GameOn was a nearly year-long social media competition that saw ambassadors Kevin Hart and Usain Bolt try to out-do each other by posting videos to their combined 140 million-strong social media following. The series saw them complete a set of challenges to test the core qualities and skills of poker, including reading opponents, emotional control, and bluffing.

“It is great to be recognized at awards like these and to take home two awards proves the passion and hard work of the marketing teams across every brand at Stars,” said Christopher Coyne, Chief Marketing Officer at Stars Interactive Group. “We’re all very proud #GameOn and would like to thank everyone who got involved. Stars has a big year ahead with many exciting initiatives, projects and developments. We hope to be considered positively for more awards into the future.”

In addition to taking home the ‘Poker Marketing Campaign’ and ‘Social Marketing Campaign’ awards, PokerStars was also shortlisted for the ‘Brand of the Year’ and ‘Innovation in Poker’ awards.
